Super warm, ultra-lightweight down parka with outstanding insulation capabilities, designed for extremely cold conditions. This is an emergency layer designed to be worn over your other layers when inactive, at the summit, at the belay, or in the bivouac.

The 800 fill power platinum down we use is of the highest quality available. It can be compressed to a minimal package, and lofts almost immediately when unpacked. The down is also treated for water resistance which makes it more durable, while keeping you warm and dry even in the wet.

The shell material is a Japanese ultra-lightweight DWR-treated 34 g/m2 ripstop nylon that is so thin, you can distinguish the actual down clusters through the fabric. At just 648g/22.8oz (size M) it is ultra-lightweight and ultra-packable with an amazing warmth-to-weight ratio.

The generous hood can easily be adjusted to keep the cold out. Two large fleece-lined hand pockets provides plenty of room for your gear, and the two chest pockets are easily accessed when using alpine equipment. There is also one zippered inner pocket and one inner mesh pocket. It has a regular fit with an extended back-piece. For longer excursions a compression bag is included. If you plan to wear it over a shell layer, consider sizing up.

The Red Hot Down Parka is an essential part of The Stellar System™, our expanding ecosystem of premium technical layering products for demanding on-mountain activities.

  • Hand wash or cold water wash. Do not use fabric softener.
