Despite the typhoon yesterday we still pushed through with our Trinoma trip. Luckily I didn’t get sick from the weather. If the weather cooperated more we could have looked at the whole place and not stress over the time with rushing to go back to the train station to get a good spot and from beating the traffic on our way home.

Yesterday was the wrong time to rain on our parade. Hehehe.

But I’m glad we watched 17 Again because its one of the movies I was dying to see. My money was well spent on that movie, I enjoyed it a lot and I would love to watch it again. My friend treated me to some Mrs. Fields cookies (my fave!) and I bought a box of Krispy Kremes on our way home.

I hope I can go back there soon on a sunny day, haha. Something tells me that’s not the first and last time I’m going to that place. The north takes some time getting used to in my opinion but I’d love to back there again!!

Next on my to-do list: Buy new clothes and have my hair fixed.

Hehe, school’s just a week and half away. Nervous, yes. I haven’t enrolled myself, no paid my tuition for next term yet. Boo, I already feel that I’m going to be a loner on my first day, seriously.

I want to buy a new pair of shoes btw. I’m eyeing a white pair of Chuck taylors lately, but I’m torn between getting a low-cut or hi-cut pair. I have 1 hi-cut pair of Chucks which looks pretty ruined already cause I’ve worn it sooo many times and its starting to fall apart, haha.

Low-cut or Hi-cut? White or suggest me another color? Thoughts?

Friend told me that I should get a low-cut pair cause hi-cuts are not that in anymore, haha. I wear my hi-cut with long pants anyway, but I like a pair that I can wear with anything, not just pants and shorts.

How do you guys like my new layout? I admit, I don’t put much time and effort to my 5 year old site as much as I did before but I make it a point that whenever I ‘come back’ I spoil my baby with a new layout, ahaha. Luckily I got to finish this in 4 hours, I thought it would take me all day. Good thing I found some pretty Hayden Panettiere photos online. She’s really pretty for her age, no? I thought that quote on the header fits her very well, and yes she said that herself!

This is my favorite layout so far because a) its white and b) it turned out good compared to the last white layout I did years ago. I also had a hard time deciding which artist to put there since I haven’t done any blends in a long time, I don’t know how I’ll make it stand out without looking unnatural or something. My choices before landing on Hayden’s photos were Kristen Bell and Yvonne Strahovski. ) Anyway that’s okay, I’ll keep those girls in mind for my next layout.

I think I’ll make it a point to feature female artists starting now. I noticed that most of my layouts feature men. ;;)

Today is May 5, 15 days later I go back to school, 5 days it’ll Mother’s day. TBQH, I’m very nervous about going to school. Heck, I think I’m more nervous than the freshman kids. I’m having major subjects this term mostly that’s why I’m so nervous. What if I fail more than 1 subject? I suck at drawing and I have 3 subjects which requires us to draw (animating too) and I don’t know anyone in my other drawing, gosh. Also, my first day of school is on the 21 and my schedule is up to 9PM. :doh:

Hmm.. I feel that I still have 2 weeks left of break time, it seems so close to me but I’m procrastinating here still and doing nothing like going to the salon and have my hair fixed lol. Well, I started sleeping early again if that helps and I’m starting to wake up early in the morning as well so my preparations are effective?

I’m still bummed that NBC’s announcement about Chuck is put off for another week (or two). I’ve said it many times already, keep Chuck/I hope they don’t cancel Chuck, but I heard from a friend that another show got canceled (way long ago) irregardless of its popularity and whatnot so that got me back from worrying if they will keep the show on air.

For the meantime, I’ve been searching for TV series’ online hoping that it would be my temporary meds until Chuck and Heroes will be back on air, haha. So far I found the following shows to be interesting:

Castle (starring Nathan Fillion of Firefly fame)
True Blood (starring Anna Paquin, show about Vampires)
Gossip Girl (need I say more? everybody’s practically addicted to this show)
House MD

I started downloading True Blood and Castle weeks ago and I’m just waiting for True Blood to finish. I’m watching Castle right now and I think I can still catch up because they’re only on episode 9 (or 10?) today.. I’m on episode 4 as I type this. I like Castle already! Hopefully I finish it soon so I can watch True Blood when it’s finished.

BTW, I finished Firefly (series) and Serenity (movie) in just 3 days. I was on withdrawal after finishing it and itching to find a new show to watch.. then I resorted to watching Daria reruns. Also downloaded the whole Beavis and Butthead show, been a month now and it’s close to finishing.. thank goodness. Though I feel that this torrent will be a waste of my time, lmao.

Oh yeah, my title is from La La Land by Demi Lovato. Erlack apongoes, I know right? Who knew I’d get to liking her music… Hahahaha. Gotta admit, she’s (possibly) the only Disney girl with a good voice. Sorry, Miles. I like you and all (I even defended you!) but you’re starting to get on my nerves and you’re freaking 15, my brother’s more mature than you.

I’m glad to report back again after a loooooooong week that I am finally well again after that last post!
THIS IS GOING TO BE A LOOOOOOOOOOONG ENTRY, TOO.

Today’s the last day of April and tomorrow is May, and officially after that.. I have 20 free days and then I go back to school after that. Ugh, not again.. SCHOOL. It’s TOO early to talk about school at this point, isn’t it? But when you think about it, it’s not too long before May 21 comes knocking at your door, it’s not too ‘close’ either.

My brother and I were supposed to go out today.. to Trinoma. Yup, that big mall in the North. People say that it’s bigger than Mall of Asia already so it must be REALLY huge and I want to see it! Besides, I’ve NEVER been to any malls around Quezon City. :doh: ‘Supposed to’ because its raining now and ugh, dunno, I feel lazy to go out already. I think it stopped for now but the weather isn’t looking happy (sunny) yet. I would rather go out in the heat than a rainy weather.. what if we come by a flooded place? We’ll commute on our way there pa naman. )

Anyway.. a lot of things have happened since my last entry. Wait, it has been only just a week since I updated? It felt like 4 weeks! I have posted most of it on my other journal already. Apologize for updating this late, and last.

1. I passed 2nd year! Well, almost. I failed a class, take a guess. Its okay, not. Big deal, I’m gonna repeat it for the 3rd time and then what? Fail again? See it actually helps to be negative and pessimistic about something. At least I knew this was bound to happen. If I kept on saying to myself that I will pass and then get that grade, I’d end up crumbling down again and crying, just like last time.

Ironically.. I got one failing grade and the rest of my grades are perfect. No grade below 90 and if only I passed that subject.. again, I could have been a Dean’s Lister for the term. Fate doesn’t want me to be a DL. Fuck you, fate. :whistle: It’s always like that.. I get a low (or REALLY low grade but this rarely happens) then the rest are high enough to make me a DL.

2. I finally have a DSLR!!! Horrrraaay! I never thought this day would come that I will own a camera like this. Now, my dreams are complete. =)) But I’m serious with that part. I thought I’d only get a laptop but my parents agreed (mom) to buy me this camera as well since I’m going to use it for school sooner or later.

It’s also a good thing that I was patient enough for this because if I bought one earlier, I won’t get to own a better model. Actually, IDK if there is such thing as a good camera model.. they say it’s on the “photographer” and not on the “camera”. (Arrow/Indian quote). Its a tough decision at first, 5D or 450D, then at the store we compared 50D to 450D, and I chose the latter. Hmm.. I named it Casey.

I heard recently that the 500D is out. Argh!! Why did I buy sooner? I should have waited more! But, no worries! =)) I did my homework before doing my purchase (so many times on different cameras) and IMO it’s like a 50D and 5D in one, and I heard that one of those 2 cameras doesn’t have a good megapixel (something like that) so yeah that made me back off. The 5D is too expensive for me and too huge so I didn’t want it in the first place too even though it has 21MP, oh yeah it doesn’t have a built in flash.

The HD video capability isn’t much of my concern.. but would be good to have one in a camera. S’ok, next time when I’m better and deserving of a better cam, I’ll get one with HD recording feature hehe.

3. Hanging out with my high school friends.One of the things I want to do during my summer break is to spend a day with them since I’ve been missing out all the time one our previous bonding sessions thing (cause of school). This happened last weekend, after we enrolled our brother, my mom dropped me off at my friend’s condo in Manila and the rest is history.

Too bad I didn’t go for a swim, though I bought extra clothes all was missing is my pair of havs. I didn’t stay long anyway, and when I left that’s when they began using the pool.

) I got a note yesterday that there’s going to be another one (swimming) this Saturday, this time at the pool place we stayed at last year.. hope I can go.

) And I hope the weather cooperates as well.

4. I’ve started reading books again. I think I started reading again last week but I finished a book just last night, lol. Yes that’s an accomplishment for me because the book is really thick it felt like I am never going to finish it. You really need to be patient when you’re reading. )

The photo is flipped because of Photobooth, I tried to flip it back but I look weird. Hahahahaha.

And I’m glad I read this certain book patiently. I have this book “Beach Blondes: A Summer Novel” by Katherine Applegate that I bought and started reading last year but I stopped on August after that I didn’t get to read it again. Until two days ago I got bored and picked this book randomly, good thing I still remember where I stopped. I didn’t read from the first part again, I skipped to the last part I read instead.

Its really boring and typical at first (teenager Summer Smith, girl from Minnesota with no boyfriend and living the plain ol Jane life comes to Crab Claw Key for the summer. She meets new people and snags 3 possible boyfriends along the way!) but when you get to the middle part of the book, that’s when it gets thrilling and keep you wanting to find out what happens next. Of course before you get to that, there’s going to be the boring parts first. Yeah, believe me. )

There are twists, too. Interesting story, actually. I wish they’d make this to a movie, really!!

So now I finished reading Beach Blondes, I hope I get to finish reading this book that I almost forgotten that I had it. The other book, Chicken Soup for The Soul, belongs to one of my colleagues and I borrowed it from her then completely forgotten about it until I saw it on my mother’s table last night, lol.

It reminds me of Paulo Coelho’s “Like The Flowing River”, its packed with inspiring story, quotes and snippets. Hopefully this won’t take long to finish.

By the way, did I mention that the book Beach Blondes is almost as thick as the HP4 book?? HELL YEAH! That’s why it took me a looooooooooong time to finish it. Same with that Harry Potter book.

5. CHUCK COMES TO AN END…. For good or just for now? Last Tuesday was the finale of Chuck season 2 and I hope this show gets a season 3. At the end there’s a To Be Continued, what does that mean? Some sites say NBC doesn’t care about that.. others are hopeful that there is going to be a season 3 to this show.

To summarize the finale: Casey gives Chuck his paycheck for the services he has done for the past 2 years then hugging ensues, Casey gives Chuck is personal phone number :X . Ellie’s dream wedding comes true with a bit of mishap at first, Chuck gets the intersect back into his head and learns something new along the way.Heroes finale was also on the same day and there’s a sneek peek of Volume 5 alrady, damn!! They’re so sure about it already.. D: I love Heroes but the storyline is getting nowhere, really. Its all the same, save the world stuff.. new villains and dead heroes come back to life. Its getting old. NBC should investigate on Heroes more than Chuck, really. I don’t want to talk about cutting shows on TV, its like taking away the jobs of the actors hahaha. In the end all they want is to earn money from their hard work. Everybody works hard don’t they? (How did I get to this topic?)

With Chuck and Heroes done for the meantime.. I’m out of shows to watch again except for Smallville (and they often go on breaks pa!).. What to watch now? Gossip Girl is starting to look interesting to me but I’m not sure if I can still catch up. I want to watch shows that are still fairly new so I can catch up with downloading new episodes, unless someone would let me borrow their DVDs of the show or something.

6. A friend suggested I watch Firefly since I like Adam Baldwin so much (hahaha YES). I downloaded all the episodes last week and I finished episodes 1-10 yesterday.. There are 14 episodes + 1 movie so today, if possible, I’ll watch the last 4 episodes & the movie tonight or tomorrow.

Too bad this show got canceled. Phooey. I can’t describe what this show is about, look it up on IMDB. =)) But I like it nonetheless and not only because of Adam, I’m way past that. ;;)

Right now, I’m downloading True Blood.. its taking so long, add to the fact that the internet connection is going bonkers lately. Damn. So much to watch, so little time!!

Me and Karen Smith from Mean Girls are on the same boat right now. Except that I’m telling the truth and she’s not, so in the end she’s still a whore. Then again, she’s just pretend and I’m the one who’s really sick. So I guess I lose too?

I’m sick. *cough cough* Yep, for realz. I got the whole motherload of sickness package: Cough, flu (clogged nose), sore throat and headaches. How unfortunate for me that I get sick just when summer is really here (for me) and I’m done with school. After I had a phone conversation with one of my high school buddies about some get together trips, one of them includes going to Star City and Trinoma sometime during the week, my minor cough and colds got pretty major and eventually got worse.

I hate it whenever it gets really hot and way out of proportion. It may be fun for some, because they have reasons to go to the beach. That would be fun for me as well, if I don’t get sick from it. I remember the doctor saying that I shouldn’t be too exposed in heat because my body won’t handle it. I’d get sick if I were in someplace hot for too long. Like I’ll get infections, add up the people around me who’s sick as well.

There you go, little ol’ easily infected Anna. Easy to get sick. Misery loves me a lot.

I wish all of these would go away soon before Monday, I have to go to school and claim my grades. I have to be there ALL day. I’d be fine with that but I have to go early, and my friends have to go to the afternoon, maybe I’ll die from misery and boredom waiting for them. Damnit. It sucks to wait when your sick with a dripping nose, it makes you do stupid things.

I believe that going out when your sick does make you do stupid things. Its like your whole body isn’t in the mood to do anything, and that’s why you should take a day off and rest all day.

That, I wish to do but thanks school for taking it away from me!

Yes I know I should sleep instead of blogging. But creative juices come out when I’m sick, funny how that works. ) Wait wait, that’s not it. Actually this post came to my mind yesterday but only go to do it now, just time when my condition has gotten worse. And I already slept, woke up an hour ago.

Holy Week 09

One more day and Holy Week is over and we’re back to our normal lives again. I’m back to school for sure, but just for 1 week cause its only finals week and then course card day. End of 2nd year college after that and hello ho ho ho SUMMER BREAK.

How’s your week so far? Have you done anything holy? (err, hahaha) I haven’t and I don’t think I will as far as I’m concerned. You see, this year’s HW for me was just like another week for me (minus having classes).

I had classes last Wednesday but just half day, looking back I’d say its a relief having classes on that day. If not for having school last Wednesday, I’d be bored to death here at home already. I won’t have any reasons to go out and enjoy a time at the mall, I could have started on my other subjects BUT I would be worried about not finishing my portfolio project for the other project. So good thing I had classes last Wednesday, I had a nice time having lunch with a friend and I got my portfolio ring binded by the end of the day. One task off the list and I can use the rest of my remaining free days to finish my two other projects for school.

The way we spent holy week last year felt more genuine unlike this year that neither my mom nor my brother Alex went out of the city and to the province. It was only my dad who left for 3 days and came back — yeah sure, that’s holy week for you dad. Last year we stayed at San Fernando, La Union for Holy Week ’08 (at my brother’s uncle and aunt’s house) and it felt more like Holy Week there because the usuals were there such as no meat for x days (IDK should you not eat meat for a whole week? Having no meat for a week felt like years to me), hearing sad music on the radio (from what I remember, I thought those music playing on the province radio station were from the 20s era — yeah I feel like laughing at myself right now but I swear it does sound like some old age music way older than the 60s-80s) and PASYON (I know there is one but I haven’t seen it IRL) and the La Union boat parade (quite unique I must say).

This year feels a bit different that I spent Holy Week here in Manila, in my home.. treating it just like any other day. I’ve become used to idea of seeing a sea view right this moment, but no.. I’m looking at a screen monitor. Oh well, it will never be the same again. Next year, after holy week probably, will be the start of my OJT. Bye real summer break. To my last summer break: I hope you become memorable to me.

In other news, have you heard of the TV series “Chuck”? Sure you do! I blogged about it 2 posts back, its hard to miss. Anyway, I’m one of the people who are trying to keep this show from being canceled and removed from NBC. If you’re a fan and a religious follower of the show you’d know about this, and I’m sure we have the same sentiments about it. We don’t want this show to be canceled because its simply awesome (lack of better word to express my feelings right now.. Ryan McPartlin’s voice is going around my head =)) ), storyline is good and not common (it looks like another spy themed series but this is action, romance, comedy, family all rolled to one), they have fresh faces on the cast lineup, etc. There’s just too many reasons why this deserves a third season. If you would like to also do your part in helping the show, there are many ways to do it.

I plan to do some real participating myself, writing a letter to NBC. We’ll see how this goes. So far I’m plugging Chuck endlessly on my Tumblr (even though I’m sure some people might be getting annoyed already hehe), Twitter and Plurk.

I recently just got interested to this show, big thanks for my friend who already has back episodes so it was no problem catching up with season 1. And even though I’m just a new fan, I don’t want to end my fangirling to this show anytime soon.
