Out of all the concerts I’ve attended in the past couple of months (my last one being the Incubus concert, and that was the cherry on top of my life until this one!), this is the most spontaneous one yet. So, buckle up and brace yourselves for another loooong post about this exciting concert!
PART ONE: THE HOTEL
I woke up really early for this because I thought that if I were there early, I would at least get a glimpse of Amy Lee before she leaves the hotel to go to the nearby mall (SM Megamall) for the M&G with selected people. See, I had planned in advance for this moment! Apparently, I failed to get a glimpse of her and I felt that I had wasted 3 hours for nothing. My friends came in a little bit later in the hotel but for a different reason: to meet Gavin Rossdale of Bush (a 90s band). They succeeded at doing that, and well, it was a pleasure to meet another rockstar so I jumped in and joined for a photo-op. I feel a little out of place because I wasn’t too familiar with their music and this guy, yet.

Kisty, a friend whom I met around the blogosphere years ago (back at the time when tumblr didn’t exist.. that’s how long!), was in town for a week (I think) and part of her agenda was to meet with her friends. We met last Thursday, along with other Erika and Cariza, and she brought us together to watch live this variety show in ABSCBN called Showtime.
Like any other person who wants to see celebrities in the flesh and meet them, I was stoked when Kisty invited me. This was on the same week as the Evanescence concert, so my week was fully booked already!
Fast forward to finally arriving at ABSCBN, we were told to go in line, then they gave us these mini numbered placards and they handed chips to Kisty and some of us. I think it’s for the game portion of the show. I didn’t take one because I didn’t want to participate.

Once we’re in the studio, I saw that it’s really small and rather cramped compared to the TV. Ah, the magic of wide angle lens!! Surreal, yes, and a little bizarre. I saw the section where the “Hurados” sat during the performance part of two groups in every episode. It was tiny.
The stage seemed small, as well. Continue reading →

Last Saturday, Bench held a fashion show event-slash-fan conference at the SMX Convention Center (the building just beside SM Mall of Asia) that would feature a new line called OJ Americana which Lucy Hale, the new addition to the growing list of Bench international endorsers, is the ambassador. First was the fashion show featuring these lovely models sporting the new OJ Americana denims and the second part was Lucy Hale coming out to answer questions, interact and have fun with the audience (especially the chosen ones who got a photo-op with her).
The event was pretty much an invite-only, and most of the audience, if they’re not with the media or the VIPs, are the winners from Bench’s Twitter or Facebook contests. I got in the event because I was one of the lucky Facebook users whose entry got validated. With me was my schoolmate/blogger friend Cerisse, she got in for winning their Twitter contest.
Upon entering the venue, I was expecting to see a massive line, or some kind of riot. Imagine my shock (not really visible when I was there though, haha!) when I saw an empty entrance and very calm people manning the entrance area. By this time, we weren’t expecting good seats or view because we’re so late; we would probably end up at the very back and not get a clear view of anyone who will come out later. Luckily being in the back is alright because we were closer to the stage, only this was convenient during the fashion show cuz Lucy Hale wouldn’t go to our side when she came out.
No matter! My lens came to the rescue. Thank goodness for my stalker lens, haha! Cerisse’s shots were better, though. Hers had better range.

A few of my friends from OED were invited to this event by Bench and Coke in Trinoma last Saturday. I was pretty excited to attend this kind of event because it’s been TOO long since I’ve been to any! I was really looking forward to the part where I get to shoot a LOT of photos, and fortunately, I got to do that here!
The “Big Youth Blowout,” a youth fashion show featuring chic statement shirts mostly of Coca-Cola related designs by Bench was launched in the Trinoma Activity Center in Trinoma, QC, Philippines. Among the most awaited people in this event were the celebrity endorsers and Happiness ambassadors of this campaign: Julia Montes, Kathryn Bernardo, Joseph Marco, and Enchong Dee.
Before the show started, hosts MYX VJ Chino Lui-Pio and Bianca Roque interviewed the selected fashion correspondents of the day, then some hyper fun cheer dancing occurred courtesy of the UE Pep Squad, followed by a short talk from the owner of Coca-Cola Philippines none other than Mr. Guillermo Aponte. I was waiting for the owner of Bench, Mr. Ben Chan, to have a share some words as well but that didn’t happen. I think after this, the fashion show proper (lol?) started.
I’m sorry I don’t really remember the sequence of events because I was busy shooting. Emphasis on that word! I was really more focused on shooting than paying attention to the show itself. I was so busy that after Enchong’s part, came in the conclusion of the show. To me it felt like the whole event went by like a breeze.
What.
Definitely more photos under the cut so please go right ahead and click “read more”!

Yesterday was probably the busiest day I’ve had yet as far as my pre-graduation streak of procrastinating around is concerned. I had school in the morning up until early afternoon for graduation practices. Later that afternoon, I met with a friend (brought along our mutual friend with us) and went to the Mall of Asia to try out this Mexican restaurant my friend and I were talking about a week ago. Last but not the last, we went to this groovy bar somewhere in Malate, Manila to watch one of my friend’s favorite bands.
Tiring but it was satisfying in a way that I was busy all day. Hey, at least I got out of the house after all the weeks of rotting like a vegetable.
Here’s a teaser from my busy Saturday. The rest of the photos are under the cut!
Boys will be boys, hahaha.
Um, most of my photos are of them because since I graduated late (my friends, “barkada” if you will, graduated last July) I didn’t know most of the people I’m graduating with in this batch ‘cept for these people. Hm, no, wait, I do know most of the people as familiar faces. As for acquaintances, I didn’t get a proper photo with them though because we were in a hurry to get our photos shot, my cap kept falling off and that annoyed me, tldr, mopey Anna had difficulty asking people to take photos w/ other people lol. K.
