Another year is going to end and another one is about to start hours away.. let’s wrap 2008 and look forward to 2009! I admit I’m being a pessimist because I don’t expect my year, or least the start of my classes next week to go well. Oh well.. READ THE REST OF THE ENTRY! :yay:

Here we go another back to the past kind of post.. and reflecting def comes along with it. What did I do on this year that made an impact in me? Did I change, for the better or for the worse? OR simply.. nothing? Still ‘as is’, or maybe ‘stuck in reverse’? (sorry I’m listening to Coldplay’s song while writing this entry) I’d say I’m finally “learning”. You’ll find out when you read my “list”.

Randomly picking out thoughts in my head.. 2009 means..

• The year before my ‘expected’ graduation year, 2010.
• The year that I finally leave the teen-years behind. The dreadful 2-0.
• JUNIOR YEAR
• Harder subjects, demanding profs

I decided to make a highlights of the year kind of list instead of a month-by-month highlight that I did last year.. 2008 seems to just went by me SO fast that I barely noticed the months, I still can’t fully grasp that it’s already December. All I know is (while school was still on going) weeks came by fast and it felt like I only slept for 5 days and before you know it, the clock turns to another day, another month for us to enjoy.

*drum roll* So from what I can remember.. in 2008.. I….

• Found out Incubus is going back to Manila last January from a friend
• Met Incubus in March :X and I watched the concert as well and I was nearer to the stage compared to when I saw them in 2003.
• The Incubus ‘experience’.. starting from the posters and tshirts.
• Dropped my Algebra subject (first time that I ever dropped a subject in my life) because of health conditions
• Got caught in the Twilight fever (actually, it wasn’t a “fever” when I got into it.. the ‘coven’ was just starting out). I read all the books in a reasonable time, except for the last one.
• I got a low grade for a subject that ruined my chances to be a Dean’s Lister.. I got really crushed by that.
• Learned how to drive.
• Wordcamp Philippines held at my school, met Matt Mullenweg.
• Watched Lifehouse’s concert here in Manila
• Got addicted to Chris Brown’s song “With You”
• Went to Pupil’s gig in Il Ponticello, which btw was my first and last local gig for the year (intl concerts doesn’t count)
• Eraserheads reunion concert
• My 19th birthday celebrated 2x: Get together with my HS classmates at my house and a YC treat with my College friends
• Went to a LOT of debuts
• Realized that the 2nd half of 2008 was the time that I was REALLY BUSY IN MY LIFE. So much plates to do, so much demands from picky profs, etc.
• 2008 was the year that I had the best schedule in college.
• Started a Photoblog in November
• Desperately wanted to pass Free Hand subject.. I worked really hard..
• Passed ALL my subjects for the term.. OMG YAY!

Okay that’s all for now. :dance: Sorry if I forgot some.. my memory, needs to be, upgraded.
But seriously, if I may have forgotten some events.. remind me.

I was one of the lucky people who got to go to the Eraserheads concert last night for free. As I mentioned on my post before, I am grateful to Marcus Adoro for the opportunity. :worthy: Entrance wasn’t easy like I expected because I had to wait in line to be served, but I was patient and I got in eventually. But it would be better if I arrived early at the event (like at 4PM), I would’ve gotten a better spot. But neverthless I’m contented.

I saw many people that night. It was a star-studded night, celebrities who I never thought I’d see there like Francine Prieto was there! I saw Dong Abay, Mich Dulce, Marc Abaya, Kat Alano, Aiza Seguerra (lol, no we’re not related), Mark Escueta, Diego of Sandwich, J.Sonic of Pedicab, the others I forgot already. Ack. I saw my online friends, actually, most of my companions that night are people that I met online, LOL. You guys know who you are, thanks a lot for the time.

Anyway, to continue with my kwento.. The Eraserheads concert was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! Just seeing the four of the original members of the band that night made me feel proud that I was there, thankful, grateful and simply HAPPY. Who knew they would really reunite again? First started as a wishful thinking for all hardcore fans of the band but it came true, it was definitely a dream come true for anyone who is a supporter of OPM music (minus those pogi rock crappola going on). I got so, so, so happy when they played this songs live: With A Smile, Ligaya, Sem break (I keep stressing this one out, lol, this is the 3rd time I’m doing a Eheads related blog post.. In my case it’s ‘TERM BREAK’), Huwag Mo Nang Itanong, Kailan, Huwag Kang Matakot, Alapaap. IMO, Light Years was the saddest song they played. It was the last song they played before going to the break, before it ended. I read up the lyrics of the song online, and it sounds like it was a song meant for Ely’s mom. Aww.

Unfortunately, as soon as things started to shape up and WE were having the time of OUR lives, something just had to happen. During the 20 minute intermission break, backstage, Ely Buendia had heart attack and had to be rushed to the hospital. And yes, you guessed it right — the show couldn’t go on any longer without the front man himself. Everyone felt a mixture of emotions — disappointment, sympathy, sadness, anger. Okay, people who got angry about the concert being cut short are probably the people who are friggin insensitive and only cares about themselves. Di naman maiiwasan na walang magrereklamo diba? Ely Buendia’s mom passed away on Thursday, if you were in his shoes, would you postpone the concert and probably disappoint a lot of fans? You wouldn’t do that, right? Cause that would be a selfish act. But the guy still went through the whole thing, serving up hungry fans by playing 15 songs STRAIGHT. I don’t want to elaborate the whole thing, if you must know the gist, then click here. Presently he’s doing OK now, he’s stable. Hopefully there will be a Part II of the Eraserheads concert very soon. :pray: And according to their drummer, it won’t be the last, that was just the beginning. :yay:

I know everyone’s waiting for pictures from the event. Well, about an hour ago I tried my best to install Lightbox here in my domain to make it easier for you to view the photos. But, fuck! It keeps on messing up on installation, I gave up and uploaded them at my Multiply account instead. I really wanted to install Lightbox for a very long time ago, but what the heck I failed. As of this morning, I found out that there’s a Lightbox script for WordPress! Lol. I feel really stupid reinstalling the script itself last night, thanks Juice for informing me. :heart: So no more links to my Multiply, here are photos I took, the best (in my POV) from my mostly-blurred shots, haha. Oh yeah, my term break officially started yesterday! I’m going to school tomorrow to claim my course cards. Hoping I don’t get a grade lower than 3.0, hoping to be a DL.. as if. Okay fine, s’long as I don’t have a grade LOWER than 2.0, I’m contented. :whistle: It’s September tomorrow as well, first -ber month!

Bahhh, I got sick when I got home from the concert as well. I have mild flu and sore throat. Wish I have loads to lozenges here to take the sore throat away. I hate it, I’m craving for lots of foods right now but I can’t eat properly cause of my damned throat. I hope to get well by Monday at least cause I’ve planned my to-do list for Term Break already. I told mom that I will continue my driving lessons, in between I will try to catch up with my HS friends, practice drawing..

I’m gonna do everything just to feel better.

I had nothing better to do last night so again, I ended up watching videos at YouTube. But I stayed off from watching scary TV-ripped shows and watched movie clips instead, like Sorority Boys (favorite!) and that’s how I got to downloading Aquaman. It’s a biased comment but I :heart: it, only cause Justin Hartley is in it! If you watch Smallville, you would know what I’m talking about. I noticed that it’s not Alan Ritchson who played the main character on this series, it would’ve been better since he was Aquaman on Smallville. I looked around YouTube and saw his AI audition clip! LMAO. He auditioned for that show pala, too bad he didn’t get to the final casting. I don’t like him that much anyway, there’s something weird in him that I don’t like. :whistle: I hear he’s a nice guy though.. whatever.

Only one episode was released, the pilot episode. Maybe they thought the concept wasn’t that good or it wouldn’t gather much audience? I agree with the concept thing though. The show’s okay.. but the concept is just.. IDK, nonsense? The story would only circulate on AC saving people.. or sea creatures underwater? There aren’t much crimes underwater to begin with, right? Thought so. But yea, I dig the JH scenes. Hehehe. I’m not used to seeing him as Aquaman, I still prefer him as the Green Arrow in Smallville.

That reminds me, I have to start watching Smallville again because JH is on one episode at Season 7! Woohoo! Lol. I stopped watching at Season 7 cause I got lazy downloading the episodes, but this has given me a motivation to download! The bad news is.. Michael Rosenbaum (aka Lex Luthor on the show) might be leave after this season! He’s my favorite on the show and the show might start to suck when he leaves. Yea, I’m not after Tom Welling (Clark Kent), he’s just too nice it’s annoying!

5 days before school starts, noooo! But it’s also the time I’ll start saving up money again from my daily allowances, hahahah. It’s not that bad after all. I just hope that my professors I got are super nice and likes to considerate.. I’m a bit doubtful if I could enter school next week because I haven’t paid my tuition fee yet. Dad hasn’t received the money from his customers. And I need new clothes (not trying to sound like a spoiled brat), I really do! Most of my shirt’s don’t fit me well anymore and I need to buy new pants, I only use like 2? Lol. I sound so poor.

By the way, I quit my driving lessons two days ago. Not really quit.. but I thought I’d still continue doing it until my mom told me I have to stop ‘learning’ cause we’re short on money to pay for the tutor. Actually my last day sucked big time. I was tutored by a new driver and his teaching is 100% different from my previous tutor. And he made me drive in a busy place where there are cars.. a lot of them, lol. People commented that I should drive an automatic car instead of a stickshift. I’d love to try that (actually our cars in the family are mostly automatic), except my parents doesn’t want me to until I’ve perfected driving a stickshift.

MOTHER’S DAY Happy Mother’s day to your mom and to every mom out there! I greeted my Mom last night before she drifted away to her sleep cause I was still awake when the clock hit 12AM. She liked it and thanked me after, lol. Honestly.. my parents don’t really care about this kind of events anymore. Even my Dad doesn’t care much about Father’s Day anymore. When we get older, I guess, we’ll know why people like them don’t mind about it much now unlike before. I suppose age has something to do with it? Bills to pay, money and debts, thinking of where to get money to sustain the needs of the family — just some of the important things our parents think about than celebrating their “day”. Come to think of it, EVERYTHING they do is hard! Gahh, I don’t want to be a parent anytime soon. That’s why I don’t want to get myself in relationships.. LOLOLOL.

Anyway, mom and dad went out earlier this morning to look at Air Conditioners at the mall. I wondered why they’re planning to buy one when we still have a working unit on this very room where I’m in right now. Dad said they’re gonna put it on our house across the street. Meaning…. our house may get finished renovating soon. So yay.

DRIVING I was supposed to go driving yesterday but the tutor did not arrive. I got dressed at quarter to 5pm cause he always arrives early, but yesterday he never did. And then I found out later when my brother woke up from his nap that the car had to be taken to the tune-up center cause some part of the car was malfunctioning or something. Then I immediately asked him if it was OUR fault that the car broke down, he said it wasn’t. Well, I had the right to ask because as far I can see, Alex, Mom and I were the only ones who used that car most of the time to tutor us.. and I felt bad for it cause I could’ve been the reason. Yesterday could’ve been my 7th day of driving. Damn, they told me I could finish in 10 days but it will be extended to 11 days (because I didn’t get to drive yesterday). I’m getting lazy…. BUT I’m getting better. Thank God I’m getting the hang of that manual car. :dance:

SCARING MYSELF Last night I watched age old videos of Are You Afraid Of The Dark, Tales of The Crypt Keeper and 1960s Twilight Zone. I know I was a fool for doing that because I scare myself easily regarding scary shows but like always, I only realized it when I was watching Part 3 of the last Twilight Zone episode I was watching. Not only that but I also went memory tripping by watching old school Nick show intros like Clarissa Explains it all, Sabrina The Teenage Witch, etc. I wish our Nickelodeon in the Philippines would bring back shows like that.. they used to show it when I was in Elementary, lol. IMO, they beat the new teen shows hands down but I still like to watch them compared to American Idol (no offence to all AI fans) and some other TV Series out there..

Are You Afraid Of The Dark was one of the shows I would never ever watch alone when I was a kid. I’d turn off the TV and go to sleep once I see the scary intro, especially the one where the title of the show flashes on the screen and then a hand holding a lighted match stick comes up! Pete and Pete, one of the weirdest shows I’ve ever seen in Nick back in the day.. I tried to watch a clip from the show last night but I still find it weird and boring so I didn’t bother.

Needless to say, most of the episodes in AYAOTD still scared me and left me unable to sleep last night. The Tale of The Pinball Wizard, The Tale of the Thirteenth Floor and The Tale of the Dark Music are some of the scariest! Lets put to consideration the crappy quality, props and everything but it still leaves you haunting in your sleep. :whistle:

I’ll try to watch more episodes later.. hopefully as long as the Sun is still shining. It’s less scarier when you watch horror shows in daylight cause you forget about them when you sleep. What an idiot, scaring myself.. Meh.

BACK TO SCHOOL This coming week is my *final* week of doing nothing. Probably next next week I’ll be “busy” preparing myself for my school comeback, ROFLMAOWTFBBQ. Sophomore year, here I come! There’s a part of me wishing to have Him as my classmate this term, but I know that’s too illusionary to wish for since he’s probably ahead of me with the subjects. Last term He took subjects that I would be only taking this term.. I know, I asked. HAHA! And after my first day in school, I wouldn’t have any classes again. Yay for Thursdays!

NEW SKIN I got my BestSkinsEver package for Macbook 13.3 laptop last Thursday. I put it on the laptop two days ago. It was too much work but in the end it was worth it, I think. I decided to remove the skin for the wrist part because it looks REALLY ugly. Half of what I paid for was wasted, huhu. Here are pics.. Does it look bad or what?

There are parts where I didn’t get to do the method carefully but I don’t think they’re very noticeable. The trackpad takes time getting used to since its hard to go around it. :doh: Glossy, glossy. Hmm, next time when I do something like this again I’m definitely going to do it inside the bathroom.. I had to soak the films to water first before applying it (yes the laptop had direct contact with water in the process, scary!.. not really). Why in the bathroom? Because inside the bathroom there is less lint than inside a room where lint drops itself just about anywhere dusty. I did my first BSE application on my iPod before and inside the bathroom and the results were really good. Not sure if I should put back my orange Speck hardshell case.. I’m going to sell it online if I don’t find any use for it anymore. Would anyone be interested?

RANDOM On a completely random note.. Bea Alonzo is playing the Philippine version of Betty La Fea! WTF! I thought it was gonna be Anne Curtis, LOL. IDK.. She’s more fitting than Bea Alonzo.

Sheesh, I never thought I would ever say this but.. I MISSED MY DOMAIN! Not many people have noticed but my site’s been off the map for a DAY! Okay, actually only 2 people noticed it and came up to me and told me about it. Anne Kate and Mary, thanks for the concern. Heh. :whistle: I thought it would take longer than what my new domain host said (4 days then changed to 7-10 days) but the problem was with me not giving authorization to my old domain host (GoDaddy) to start the transfer. Good thing I tinkered around with the site’s Domain Manager or this would take longer. I don’t know if I’d be able to hold up to that.

Well, good thing everything is back to normal now. Thanks GoDaddy for the time being of hosting my domain. Now I belong to D0M41N.NAME! They helped me throughout the transfer process, the owner (Ed) even called me to update me on what’s going on with the transfer when I got confused with it (cause it’s pretty odd that it’s taking a long time to transfer.. or I’m just pretty dumb with these domain stuff). Totally recommend them to the Filipino blog/domain owners there. Payment options are varied as well, not limiting to just credit cards like the usual. Oh yea, their prices are SO affordable — PHP 350 for a year with great service, what more could you ask for, right? Sorry but while I was doing domain hosting research, most of the PH-sites I stumbled upon offer this kind of service for PHP 500, and I think that’s way to expensive for my budget.

I was supposed to talk about my driving lessons and my “Twilight” reading experience before my domain went kaput. Yes you got that right, I just rode the Twilight/Edward Cullen/Stephenie Meyer fan bandwagon! :dance: Never thought I would be sucked into this kind of addiction. In every single blog I go to, at least 5 of them mentions the damned book and “Edward Cullen”, I don’t even know what’s so special with him, until I read the book 3 days ago. Actually I already had a copy of Twilight last February but only got to read it this month because my friend who borrowed it returned it just recently (if you’re my friend at Twitter, you might’ve read my smallish rant about her :whistle: ). Moving on.. I read the book, surprisingly I finished it in a day! I normally finish reading a book within a month, if I’m busy or bombarded with school works. But I can finish a book in 3 weeks if I’m really not doing anything. Slow reader, I am. As much as possible I try to grasp whatever it is that I’m reading so I can picture it out easily on my mind, lol, weirdo. A lot of things pretty much surprised me while reading Twilight:

The book is full of words like “ice”, “cold”, “icy”, “stone” and “eyes”. Hahaha, eyes y’all! Now I’m all “eyes-mode”. Every “eye-staring” scene and event in the movie makes the butterflies on my stomach fly.. or something like that, haha. EYES EYES EYES!! ) I would so melt if a guy would stare directly to me, gahd.

Making left and right turns on busy main roads (I’m too conscious about the other cars getting pissed at me for being so slow. )

Starting the car after doing a full on-brake. I’m having problems with the clutch and gas pedals. Told ya I have bad footwork. If I get it correct at one point, time comes when I fuck up all over again.
