AKA part two of my Rekindling Our Taft Life entry!

After we had our adventure inside our school, we went to Noriter at Taft Avenue for afternoon snack! If memory serves me right, this is the 2nd time I’ve been to this cafe. First was with my blogger friends, that one I didn’t get to blog about though.

My friend, Pat, really wanted to go to this cafe because of the stuff she hears about it. Either that or she has friends who’ve been there and hyped it too much for her. ) Also, she’s in need of visual inspiration for a project of hers. I guess her peg is Korean interior, hence the need to check this place out.

I don’t normally fancy cafes like this, or cafes to begin with. I get frappes and ice blended drinks from Starbucks and CBTL once in a while if I’m in the mood for it but that’s about it. Oh, and a slice of cake if I decide to stay inside.. usually when I’m with a friend. I don’t go to cafes by myself. I dunno, I feel intimidated being there and not looking busy or studious. )

In this case, we were tired from running around school and we had a real purpose to visit this place. For me, I was craving for a sweet drink, so there.

Noriter wasn’t that bad on my 2nd visit. It’s certainly anything but a quiet place though, I gotta say. When we got there, it was full and from how ‘settled’ the other customers looked, it looks like most of them have stayed in for more than 2 hours now just hanging out and killing time. My Book Depository orders finally arrived!

It’s my first time to order from BookDepository.co.uk (emphasized the .uk because there’s also a USA version of their store) and while I’ve heard horrible stories about our post offices here in the Philippines, I still went ahead and purchased a couple of books from them.

I placed my order for these books around the last week of August, and they were dispatched from the HQ from Sep 2-5. Yup, they were mailed off separately; assuming they did that to cut down on shipping costs and from making the package suspicious-looking to the eyes of the customs ~~(who are really scums of the earth, and leeches)~~.

Jollibee Hash Brown Burger

Fast food companies nowadays have this trend (as I’d like to call it) with their burgers, like they’re trying to come up with a burger that’s unique as much as possible. As far as I know, it started with KFC’s Double Down burgers. Unfortunately for them, the DD burger will never get my attention and make me crave for it so bad to actually try it out because it looks really oily/icky/nasty/disgusting. Also, I’m not really a person who fancies eating burgers that can barely fit in her mouth, lol.

With that said, the McDonald’s regular burger is more than enough for me, to be honest. There are times when I get Army Navy’s regular burger, too. But with that burger, I sometimes split it with my brother since it’s too heavy for my tummy.

Heh, oh yeah, happy 30th year to McDonald’s today! Believe me, doing this ‘review’ of your competitor on this day is a big coincidence. It slipped my mind that it’s your 30th year today and the Hash Brown Burger is calling my attention, so there.

Music Wrap-Up Sundays

Lately I’ve been jumping from one activity to another. It’s bad because I don’t get to focus but at this point do I really have a choice? I’ve earned this much free time and I’ll do whatever the hell I want (except spend all my savings in one place).

One of the things I’ve been spending extra time on is fixing my music library for my iPod, iTunes library and having a hi-res backup of these albums burned to a DVD.

Also, I’ve been on the hunt for new music, too. It’s convenient that most of the new releases that pops nowadays are from artists that I listen to frequently. Check out my current (old and new) album picks after the cut!

Hey guys!

There’s a contest going on right now over at Hoshigirl.com, Gel’s blog. Although it’s a little bit unupdated, she surprised us with her comeback complete with a GIVEAWAY contest since her blog’s birthday is fast approaching.
