First Week
January 10, 2009
Hello guys! First week of school is over and there’s 13 meetings to go. I hope I’m right cause from what I heard during orientations of the subjects I attended the past week (the subjects that run for 3 hours max) we only meet for 14 times throughout the term. As for the general subjects which goes for 3x a day, I don’t know how many more sessions are left but probably a lot. I have Algebra for the general subject, I take it 3x a week and I have lab class every Thursday. Meh. It’s okay, it’s okay.. take it, pass it, move on to the pre-req subject, after that it’s OVER. Konting tiis nalang.
Even if it means I’ll be left behind. My friends are advancing their way and I’m left behind (I was able to go along with them on the previous terms) but since I’m taking a subject again I couldn’t add another subject, there’s going to be a conflict with the number of units.
Sorry if that was frustrating, it was not that necessary but I just wanted to let that out.
How’s everyone’s first day of school? Mine was terrible. Yes, yes. I got sick the night before school started (insert regrets here). I got colds, cough, fever and sorethroat. I still have them now. I wasn’t able to attend my first day of PE as well but I went to school in the afternoon (I’m scared I’ll miss out a lot of things on those 2 other subjects if ever I absent myself). It’s a good thing that I did went to school in the afternoon, 2nd class (supposedly), Algebra, they already had lessons right after the orientation. And for my 2nd class, Professional Practice (
) the professor grouped the class. I wished we were grouped by the people I knew instead of counting off.
. Another business kind of subject, I’m sick of this! :hmph:
So far everything’s going smoothly, except for my “Professional Practice” class. I don’t feel comfortable on that class for some reason.
It’s not my groupmates, just .. something. The rest of the classes are super duper OK for me. Oh yeah, except for the part that most of my professors are strict with the attendance now. FAIL! =)) I guess I just miss my schedule, “way of life” last term. Just proves how much of a lazy ass I am.
BTW, during my 2 hours break, my friends and I dropped by the local National Bookstore near our school.. I wanted to buy books but I didn’t have enough cash in me. I think most books I wanted to buy were from Paulo Coelho. Here’s my wish list for books, haha. I bet I won’t even get to read them until Summer vacation. I still have one book that I haven’t read, The Host by Stephenie Meyer. =))
Eleven Minutes Paulo Coelho
The Alchemist Paulo Coelho
Like The Flowing River Paulo Coelho
Lovely Bones Alice Sebold
The Time Traveler’s Wife Audrey Niffenegger (when I read the synopsis, it reminded me of the book I read not too long ago)
The Catcher in the Rye J.D Salinger (saw a friend reading this and the context seems pretty eye catching. )
Oh well, soon I’ll have you in my possession! Hopefully. ![]()
Later days!

I`ve read the first two books you`ve listed there. They were actually great. (I think all of his books are. Haha.) You should try Haruki Murakami`s books!
Oh gosh. College. I really don`t know what to expect in there.
Get well soon!

Yes, I live in Singapore. O levels is an exam.
BTW, how come you got 13 meetings to go? Isn’t it a bit too much meetings to go to?
January 11th, 2009 at 2:35 pm
I tried reading two (or three) Coelho books, but I never finished reading them. Ewan ko ba. Haha. I might try reading one of his books this year. Sana matapos ko. Haha.
I’m sure, you’ll enjoy The Time Traveler’s Wife, though the ending is well, uh, secret. Haha. No spoilers for you, of course.
Algebra! Whha! Nakakamiss ang mga equations! Haha.
January 11th, 2009 at 10:31 pm
I’ve read the first, second and last books. You totally won’t have any regrets buying those! I also liked Coelho’s By the River Piedra… unless you’ve read it of course.
)
Wow.. I hate profs na strict sa attendance! Defeats the purpose of college. LOLOLOL.
Anyway. Goodluck in coping with your subjects.. masasanay ka rin! LOL.
I still haven’t finished my copy of The Host. Parang ayoko na basahin. I don’t find the story appealing.
January 11th, 2009 at 10:45 pm
I had the same terrible first day. Di ba nakwento ko na sa’yo.
)
You got a good book wish list ah! Try reading Arthur Golden’s Memoirs of a Geisha. Hahahaha, I’m currently reading it and so far, it’s good naman. And try Adeline Yen Mah’s Chinese Cinderella. Ganda ng story.
January 11th, 2009 at 11:17 pm
argh, I hate taking the subjects again.. especially if I don’t deserve it..
I tried reading The Host pero I stopped kasi hindi ko feel yung mga ganong story. Twlight series lang na-enjoy ko dun.
I have some book wishlist too and one of them is the Septimus Heap series, kaso laging out of stock sa NBS.
January 11th, 2009 at 11:52 pm
try to read Lovely Bones. maganda. parang they’re making a film nga based on the book.
medyo unusual yung Eleven Minutes. pero may lesson naman….ibang context nga lang.haha.
ako nga i don’t have time to read anymore. dami pa tambak na books dito and i haven’t read half-blood prince hanggang ngayon. hehe

Looks insteresting ang mga books, never heard of the author before.
I wanted to go to college na, but it seems na ayaw ko pa. Grabeh, ang hirap pala ano? Aypak.

ZOMG, your PROFES prof sounds like my old one ^^;; She grouped us into 6 groups by counting off and then we had to sit with our groupmates for the whole term. Who’s your PROFES prof? :3
Aah, The Alchemist
Hehe, I read that kasi required reading samin in high school. Liked it a lot
I wanna get my hands on The Time Traveler’s Wife too. There’s a movie coming out (or it already did in the States, I dunno) that’s based on the book.
January 14th, 2009 at 11:27 pm
I bought The Host when it first came out because I was a fan of the Twilight series (before it got famous) and it’s a really good read.
I’m so tempted to read it again, but it’s still fresh in my mind, so I’ll have to wait for like a year, maybe less, or something, lol.
January 15th, 2009 at 2:01 pm

the catcher in the rye kicks ass. :worthy:
paulo coelho is a bit lame for me, you should try haruki murakami’s books instead or gabriel garcia marquez’.
i miss college. lol. nung college ako, di ako nag-aral halos, dami kong time magbasa ng novels.
