Wrap it up

Another year is going to end and another one is about to start hours away.. let’s wrap 2008 and look forward to 2009! I admit I’m being a pessimist because I don’t expect my year, or least the start of my classes next week to go well. Oh well.. READ THE REST OF THE ENTRY! :yay:

Here we go another back to the past kind of post.. and reflecting def comes along with it. What did I do on this year that made an impact in me? Did I change, for the better or for the worse? OR simply.. nothing? Still ‘as is’, or maybe ‘stuck in reverse’? (sorry I’m listening to Coldplay’s song while writing this entry) I’d say I’m finally “learning”. You’ll find out when you read my “list”.

Randomly picking out thoughts in my head.. 2009 means..

The year before my ‘expected’ graduation year, 2010.
The year that I finally leave the teen-years behind. The dreadful 2-0. =))
JUNIOR YEAR
Harder subjects, demanding profs

I decided to make a highlights of the year kind of list instead of a month-by-month highlight that I did last year.. 2008 seems to just went by me SO fast that I barely noticed the months, I still can’t fully grasp that it’s already December. All I know is (while school was still on going) weeks came by fast and it felt like I only slept for 5 days and before you know it, the clock turns to another day, another month for us to enjoy.

*drum roll* So from what I can remember.. in 2008.. I….

Found out Incubus is going back to Manila last January from a friend
Met Incubus in March :X and I watched the concert as well and I was nearer to the stage compared to when I saw them in 2003.
The Incubus ‘experience’.. starting from the posters and tshirts.
Dropped my Algebra subject (first time that I ever dropped a subject in my life) because of health conditions
Got caught in the Twilight fever (actually, it wasn’t a “fever” when I got into it.. the ‘coven’ was just starting out). I read all the books in a reasonable time, except for the last one.
I got a low grade for a subject that ruined my chances to be a Dean’s Lister.. I got really crushed by that.
Learned how to drive.
Wordcamp Philippines held at my school, met Matt Mullenweg.
Watched Lifehouse’s concert here in Manila
Got addicted to Chris Brown’s song “With You” =))
Went to Pupil’s gig in Il Ponticello, which btw was my first and last local gig for the year (intl concerts doesn’t count)
Eraserheads reunion concert
My 19th birthday celebrated 2x: Get together with my HS classmates at my house and a YC treat with my College friends
Went to a LOT of debuts
Realized that the 2nd half of 2008 was the time that I was REALLY BUSY IN MY LIFE. So much plates to do, so much demands from picky profs, etc.
2008 was the year that I had the best schedule in college.
Started a Photoblog in November
Desperately wanted to pass Free Hand subject.. I worked really hard..
Passed ALL my subjects for the term.. OMG YAY!

Okay that’s all for now. :dance: Sorry if I forgot some.. my memory, needs to be, upgraded. =))
But seriously, if I may have forgotten some events.. remind me.

Well I’d like to greet everyone a Merry Christmas even though it’s 2 days late already! I’ve been bloghopping and not many people enjoyed Christmas this year.. a handful enjoyed it. Or is it the other way around? If you’re going to ask me this year’s Christmas is quiet different and had “I didn’t see that coming” kind of ring to it, to put it off it was uneventful, boring and just another plain day.

The week wasn’t THAT bad.. somehow it’s still eventful (must I use this word?)

I went to MOA with 3 of my HS friends last Tuesday
I got a new speaker, and a new mouse yesterday.. I was forced to spend my Christmas money on these which I got just a day ago. :doh:

Um, well that’s all. *cough* I know right? Haha. I’m just content (for now) that I finally got new speakers and a better mouse.. I find the story about my day at the mall funny, for some reason.

Yeah, I really hate crowds. But only the crowds which I find pathetic, concert crowds are still cool for me. When I went to the mall yesterday it was really really full, I wouldn’t go if it wasn’t this packed (my dad who went a few hours earlier than me said it wasn’t that full of people yet, and he was being convincing, LOL) but then again I needed to get a new mouse for my computer ASAP! A big facepalm to my face for realizing late that the reason why the mall’s packed is prolly because Christmas just passed and these “bored” people go to the mall to support the local movie industry (by watching films included in the 2008 MMFF) or just to add themselves to the crowd OR just go to their to avail of the free air conditioning the mall provides (magpalamig, in other terms).

As soon as I got out of Electroworld carrying the new items I quickly walked back to the other building and went to Shakeys to buy a box of pizza and Mojos to eat at home, I swear the numbers just keep on growing! So many kids.. couples, families.. ~~squatters~~ (HAHA, zomg sorry for the term, but it’s true!) GHETTO PEOPLE (better term, I guess) all over the place. It’s like the mall’s on a mayhem spree or something.

Hahahaha, well that’s how my day went for today. Oh yea I went back to the mall after I got home. :doh: Turns out the mouse I got didn’t work on my laptop.. Great, I just HAD to experience Suffering Pt. II: Karma =)) More people, more kids, more running little kids blocking my way. Sorry if I act like a bitch but I just want to get this over with, outta my way foooos! I’m starting to get more anti-social, haha! But they’re annoying, so yeah. My fault I guess for going there when it’s MMFF day, and it’s after a holiday so I guess these people were expecting sales on shops. *shrugs off*

For the record, when I went to MOA last Tuesday the place was not THAT packed. It wasn’t that full, not that empty either or maybe its cause MOA’s big and “impossibly” impossible to fill? Well that’s what I thought, but I just read a Plurk post right now saying MOA’s full, haha. Thank God I went there early, oh I hear there’s a sale at Mango. Go there while it’s still around, people!

I just can never find a piece of clothing that I find appealing and at the same time affordable at shops like that (Mango, Zara, TopShop, Bayo, Kamiseta, etc) if I do find something I like, they probably don’t have it in my size. How depressing, being short sucks. I’m stuck shopping for graphic tees and pants at Department Stores. Sorry.

Oh oh, I’ve been trying to come up with a new layout since last night and it’s been unsuccessful so far! :hmph: I’ve made around 5 header drafts and all them ended up being unsaved. Tsk. Right now I seem to have reached 80% with this one I’m making. ~~Wish me luck that I’ll get to finish it by tomorrow.~~ EDIT: DONE Hopefully before the year ends I’ll get to put this up + make my “Best of 2008″ post just like last year.

I am not happy that this week is going to end already, I looked at the calendar and next week’s the last week of the month and year and after that I go back to school! NO NO NO! It’d be okay if it lands on the day that I won’t have PE but it does. First day starts on a Wednesday and my schedules loaded every Wednesday starting next year. :doh:

Does this signal a sad Christmas for me? XD I don’t know, I’m not sure.. but I think this pretty much fits my ‘mood’ for the holidays.
PS: I’m not waiting for anyone to “come home”.

Looking at my previous entry, I didn’t really make my December progressive in terms of “archiving” what happened. Hahah, my last update was December 8 and my recent is December 20.. wow a BIG leap indeed. Do I owe anyone 10 hours of story-telling of what happened to me in the past few weeks? *hesitant* Yes. But I know most people have Plurk accounts up to this time, so just add me and you will be updated 24/7, lol. I don’t add back people I have never heard of.. maybe I should put my account on Public now, so that I’ll have fans or something. Or not. )

Christmas break started yesterday for me. Last day of the term was yesterday and I stayed till afternoon waiting for my friends to get their course cards for their NSTP subject so I got to hangout with them for a little while. I’m content with my grades.. yet there were times I thought that the marks I got were unfair (on SOME subjects).. on the bright side, NO SUBJECTS TO REPEAT! Read on..

Life is really unfair, or maybe I have the 2nd term jinx ▼

Well, yeah I really do feel I’m always, somehow jinxed every 2nd term of the year.. I’ll get to prove it next year when I’m in third year, lol. I guess that’s just life.. you get the sucky profs.. or paswertehan nalang sa profs. Some may call this kind of experience a challenge, to come out of their comfort zone and face challenges because when they graduate, they WILL come across people like them in the business industry. I’m not ready for that.. I just wanna graduate and BUM! KIDDING! Gee, I sound like a happy-go-lucky person don’t I? XD I’m not, promise.

Not much productivity happening on my Christmas break.. I’ve read a book, downloaded movies (but haven’t watched them), been PLURKING (I’m trying to resist, promise), ate less.. Slept alot. What I lacked in the previous term was SLEEP and I plan to taking it back, lol, seriously! Right now I’m brainstorming for a new layout.. I want a big layout for this site, this is too small. And not to mention, really old. HAHA.

Suddenly I feel like the Grinch. I haven’t been to any Christmas parties, the family is not in the “mood” for the holiday, I haven’t been in the mood myself (though at the start of the month I was all “Yay it’s December, Christmas and breaks!! WHEEEE~!” mood), I haven’t bought much presents and gave any to my friends (I only gave one gift to a friend recently).. The air may be cold but the Christmas spirit is really not around me. ) My mom will leave for Bohol tomorrow to take care of some things regarding my grandma (her mother).. she’ll be back on the 24th. IDK, that’s kinda sad.. she won’t be around before Christmas.. but I hope she gets here in the morning, so it’ll be fun! But I understand, ok ok.. It’s the only time she’ll get to spend the holidays with her/them. So yeah.

I hope my next update will be eventful, hahaha. Hope everyone’s Christmas will be fun and well-spent. I want to eat lots of food.. but hmm.. the cooking sucks here lately. :hmph: And I’m sick of eating fastfoods. I think my Kidney’s starting to get worse with my Fastfood frenzy.

I hate it that I am impatient when it comes to making art. Like making paintings, basically rendering art manually with the use of my hands. Making art “digitally” as well such as VECTORS and line art. From the first time I witnessed the existence of vector art (eventually “vexel art” was born as well), I never really tried it because just looking at the tutorials makes me want to give the whole jig up. Never thought I would ACTUALLY do these things I’d never want to do in school, argh. No patience for vectors at all, that’s me.

I’m really a patient person, I guess in other non-art stuff. But when it comes to things like THAT — I get really impatient. Even my cousin who was helping me noticed it. :hmph:

The only explanation I have to say is.. I’m simply not interested, that’s why I want to get over this activity FAST! ) IDK, when it comes to photography I’m pretty patient with it. But with drawing, it’s completely a different thing.

Have I really lost my touch in art this time? :doh: The F, I don’t even have a new layout here in my site and it’s been HELLA long since I put this Jared Leto layout.

Enough with that. I just want to let out a “brain fart” because I’m supposed to be drawing my cover for a portfolio I am required (slaved.. forced.. hmm?) to do for my finals in one of my subjects in school. I found the photos already but I’m feeling lazy a while ago so I blogged.

Oh, I wasn’t doing just only that. I also stumbled by YouTube and then minutes later I found myself watching these unknown artists sing their hearts out to their own versions of songs made by their favorite singers. I’m eventually getting interested with knowing more about them. Maybe on my next post I will plug some worthy YouTube-ers. For now all I can think of is SoldierKnowsBest. ) He’s from the US Army who does tech reviews (mostly). I like his reviews because they’re detailed and the way he presents them is just so eye catching and interesting. He’s the only guy I saw who put up a nice video review presentation of the new MacBooks, I got hooked after watching his review.

I want this term to end ASAP. I’m not expecting for happiness next term anymore.. yeah at first I thought it would be “fun” but I don’t know. I got this feeling that it won’t.. like I lost the mood over everything now.

Great, just the right mood when Christmas is fast approaching.

Is there such a thing as “cold Christmas”?

IDK, people take the term quite loosely.. just because you don’t have your own s/o AT THE MOMENT to spend with during the season, doesn’t mean your holidays will be (ice) cold.. Enlighten me, please? ;;)

Do you still make New Years Resolutions? Do you stick by it throughout the year?
